Yesterday started at 10 a.m. with Jodie and her bridesmaids getting their hair done at The Hair Cutting Co. on Main street in Newton, KS. Following the bridesmaids went with Jodie to Wichita to get their make-up applied inside of Dillard's East. Then they made the trek back to Newton to the church, Faith Mennonite.
When Jodie got back her groom awaited to see her for the first time at the front of the altar. Jodie slipped into her dress and was ready to see Jeff in nothing flat. As Jeff waited he said he is not the nervous type but had trembling fingers as he played with her wedding band that was going to go on her finger. All anxieties slipped away once we cleared the sanctuary for the two of them to see each other. We grabbed some formals after their private time with one another. While taking shots of Jodie at the front of the church Jeff kept saying, "I am the luckiest man alive. Wow!!! You are so beautiful!!!" He was truly blown away by how beautiful she looked, both on the inside and out.
With talking with Jeff and Jodie during the pre-planning stages prior to the wedding they wanted to make sure they got lots of fun shots with the two of them off location. So that's what we did! As they planned their day they allowed us 45 minutes just to spend with them going around to different locations in Newton's downtown area. We were able to grab some really amazing shots by some of the older buildings and captured them just being themselves. We then went back to the church and finished up the group shots with the families.
The ceremony had a peaceful ambiance with light shining through the pastel stain-glass. After the ceremony, Jeff and Jodie ushered all the guests out the pews and the guests stood outside to send them off in a friend's black T-top convertible Camero. The guests greeted them at the 20th Century Club for the reception. Brian with Premier Sound kept everyone dancing all night till the couple left a little after 11 p.m. Throughout the evening Jeff and his buddies had a couple of inside phrases that they would say to one another. One being "Shake and Bake" as they clanked knuckles and another "Good Game!"
Yesterday couldn't have been a prettier day with sunshine, warmth with a slight breeze.
You guys were awesome to work with and it was obvious you are completely crazy for one another. Once you see your pictures we hope we were able to capture the emotions that you had with one another on your wedding day so you may relive your special day. Thanks again! :)

We met the wedding party at Rose Hill United Methodist Church. It was East of town about a mile in the middle of a field. Ashley with her 5 bridesmaids and flower-girl got ready in the parlor. Jay and his groomsmen and ring-bearer, who was also 22, got ready in the library.
Their wedding was the first we had taken that the ring-bearer and flower-girl were grown adults. Trent carried a bright pink pillow and Carlie carried a basket with small daisies. Carlie's ensemble consisted of a black strapless with pick ribbon around her waste and bright pink high heeled shoes along with her hair in pigtails. The bridesmaids wore custom made strapless pink dresses with black ribbon. The flowers were also bright colored pink and white gerber daisies. The bright colors really reflected of how the day progressed.
The ceremony consisted of more guests than the church sanctuary could hold. There were an overflow of guests who watched through the the windows into the sanctuary. Ashley had said that 358 guests RSVP'd. Before heading off to the reception we grabbed some shots of Ashley and Jay in the field out back of the church as the sun was setting.
The reception was held at the Wholesale Fireworks in Andover. The place was packed. The cake was grey, black and pink poke-a-dotted with a big ace card on each side for the groom's cake/sheet cakes. Steve Walsh with Advanced DJ Service kept the crowd entertained as he played music all night long. We will just say that people from the Rose Hill area know how to party and have a good time. We are glad that we were able to document your special day.

Alicia's wedding day started on Saturday April 7th at the salon, Julie Balay, with her four bridesmaids. Following the salon, the ladies all headed over to Clinique counter at Dillard's for makeup. Once the final details were touched up with makeup the ladies finished getting ready at the Broadview Hotel.
The ceremony and reception took place at the close by Garvey Center, where Alicia was escorted down the aisle by her father to the wonderful music of a string quartet. With the lights turn down the room was filled with a warm glow from the decorative lamps hung above the hardwood dance floor. Following the ceremony the couple and guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner by Corporate Caterers. After dinner Alicia was ready to dance wearing her bridal sketcher shoes. The shoes were a very stylish and comfortable way to dance the night away.
Congrats to you both Josh and Alicia, thank you for letting us be a part of your joyous day.
