Our red wedding weekend ended with Scott & Victoria's wedding at Central Community Church's chapel. After Kirk & Christi's beautiful red wedding on Friday night, we were surprised to find Scott & Victoria's color was red as well. And even though they had the same color, they were both uniquely theirs and both lovely.
Victoria and her bridesmaids started the day getting their hair done at JC Penney's and make-up done at the Clinique counter at Dillard's. The ladies slipped into their dresses at the church. The bridesmaids wore red floor length gowns, red shoes and carried red rose and stargazer lily bouquets. Victoria's gown was one of the most beautiful gowns we've ever had the privilege to photograph. It was ivory with champaign colored trim and a cathedral length detachable train. The train had cutouts with lace and sequin. When the train was removed, the gown had a small layered tulle train with sequin that bustled for the reception. Victoria looked so elegant, it was no wonder Scott couldn't help but smile when he looked at his beautiful bride.
Instead of the traditional guestbook, the couple had a red satin covered signature mat with Chinese good luck wishes. During the wedding, a friend of Victoria's played the violin as the couple lit the unity candle. On the alter on each side of the unity candle, were two candles in honor of Scott's dad and Victoria's brother.
The reception was at Tallgrass County Club. As the guests were finding their name tags which were assigned to specific Chinese placards placed on each table, we were able to get some terrific shots of the couple on the golf course. As soon as the couple entered the reception, they had their first dance, which was an elegant waltz. Scott and Victoria actually met at a dance and both love ballroom dancing. Victoria gets that from her parents who are both wonderful dancers, as were many of the wedding guests.
Scott and Victoria, thank you so much for letting us be part of your day. Our wish for the two of you is one we heard is a Chinese good luck wish used mostly at weddings, Double Happiness! Have a great time on your Honeymoon in California and China!
