We could not let it go unsaid that our hearts and prayers go out to the families from Greensburg, Ks, who lost everything (including their hometown) to the most devastating tornado our State has ever experienced. Despite the severe weather watches, the rain brought only good luck to Jeff and Jessica as they exchanged vows at North Side Christian Church. Brett and I were joined by the newest member of the T&J family, Netanya.
Jeff and Jessica's wedding was definitely a family affair. The day started with Jessica, both of her sisters (who were her matrons of honor) and Melissa (her other bridesmaid) getting ready at the church. They all had their hair done by the hair stylists in the family, including Jessica's Mom. Then, the girls had their make-up done by Jessica's aunt who is a Mary Kay consultant. When Jessica was finally ready, her mom helped her into her gorgeous lace and sequin gown with crystal button back. Of course, her sisters and Melissa had to help get all the buttons fastened. Many of their other family members were also part of the wedding including three of Jessica's nieces who were flower-girls, two nephews who were ring bearers and Jeff's two brothers that were the best-men.
Jessica added her own special touches to her stunning gown by adding a celadon green ribbon at her waist that flowed down the back of her gown. The green ribbon matched the bridesmaids dresses who each wore matching ribbons. Her gold peep toe pumps were a perfect match to her gown. And the final touch was Jessica's rhinestone chandelier earrings that she thought were a little too "glitzy" for her but, were just right. The men wore traditional tuxes with matching green ties. The bouquets and other flowers were done by The Wild Geranium, they were bright and beautiful arrangements of mixed flowers.
Even though Jeff and Jessica are past teaching the ABC's to their students, "B" was definitely the letter of the day. The handmade colorful programs were uniquely designed in a square shape with a "B" on the front and tied with celdon and white ribbons. They had a "B" cutout at the quest-book table and a "B" cake topper.
The church was beautifully decorated with flower arrangements made by Jessica's sister and tons of candles. It took all four of the ushers to light all of the candles before seating the guests. Despite the weather, Jeff and Jessica were blessed with an incredible turnout of guests to witness their emotional and touching exchange of vows. The ceremony was accompanied by the church choir with a wonderful variety of songs. Everything went according to plan except for the antics of the two ring bearers who placed the ring pillows on the tops of their heads during the ceremony. The couple ushered all of the guests out of the church and joined them at the cake reception only after the last guest was greeted. The church reception hall was decorated with the beautiful flower and candle arrangement created by Jessica's sister. Jessica's other sister prepared all of the food, except for the cake which was a delicious five story confection. Jessica's Mom also decorated dozens of miniature candy bars with photos of the couple. One of the most special touches at the reception, were the family photos of both sets of parents and all the grandparents' wedding pictures, and Jessica's Mom's wedding dress.
Brett and Netanya followed the couple across town to the second reception and dance where they were joined by many of their friends and family. Jeff and Tyff were even able to make it after they finished their other wedding.
Jeff & Jessica, it was such a pleasure meeting you both and your families. We were honored to be part of your special day. We wish you all the best!
God bless,
~Cheryl, Brett and Netanya
